Due to growth and planned expansion into new territories and technologies, we are now looking to add talent to our existing team. As part of this, we have a vacancy for an Electrical & Electronics Engineer. The role will involve the design/R&D, production and test of electrical and electronic assemblies for PVD, CVD and etch systems.

Working with other team members and covering production systems and R&D projects, key duties will include:

  • Development and maintenance of PCB, electrical and electronics designs
  • Schematics creation and management
  • Practical work, including sub-assembly build, fault-finding and repair
  • Ensuring electrical and electronics work is completed to stringent quality and safety standards
  • Keeping records (including version/revision control) for traceability purposes
  • Creation of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Providing support for colleagues performing installations or service work in the field
  • Providing input and advice to the sales team
  • Supporting colleagues

Required skills and characteristics include:

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics and electrical systems
  • Experience with PLC and PCB design and implementation
  • A positive mindset with a self-motivated, motivational approach
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and fault-finding ability
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to manage own time effectively and meet deadlines

Desirable experience/skills include:

  • Experience with .NET and PLC programming languages
  • Experience working with RF power components
  • Experience working with scientific instrumentation

Candidates should thus be excellent team-workers with good communication skills and possess qualifications (to degree level) relevant to the particulars of the role described. Strong initiative, a self-organised nature and the capability to meet deadlines are essential. It is expected that the successful candidate will establish themselves as an internal technical authority.

Salary dependent on skills and experience.

Occasional national and international travel may be required.
