The installed suite of tools included soft-etching, thermal evaporation and magnetron sputtering tools for research into synthesis and applications of 2D materials and heterostructures under the supervision of Associate Professor Tim Booth.
The tools were glovebox integrated, allowing for full device manipulation under controlled inert atmospheres.
Associate Professor Tim Booth writes:
At DTU, we recently procured a suite of glovebox-integrated tools from Moorfield, including a soft-etching system, thermal evaporation and magnetron sputtering tools for our research into synthesis and applications of 2D materials and heterostructures.
This system allows us to perform the majority of the microfabrication steps for 2D materials-based devices under highly controlled low oxygen and water conditions.
The Moorfield team were essential when designing the right setup for the job and during the installation, and they are always immediately available to support us with technical assistance with any queries.
They have many years’ experience in providing for 2D materials researchers, so we know we are in good hands. We continue to be impressed with the quality and design of the kit, and we look forward to working with the equipment and the Moorfield team for many years to come. Highly recommended!”
