Due to recent growth and expansion, we are now looking to add talent to our existing team. As part of this, we have a vacancy for a Technical Sales Engineer. The role will involve marketing and business development associated with our systems and components products. Experience with scientific products, especially from an applications/system layout point of view, would be a distinct advantage. We are looking for a motivated individual who is willing to contribute to the commercial and the technical teams within Moorfield.

Working with other team members and reporting to senior sales staff, key parts of the role will include:

  • Lead generation and Business development
  • Account management of Customers and Distributors
  • Clearly establishing customer needs and ensuring customer requirements have been correctly understood.
  • Working with engineering staff to determine costs and pricing
  • Generating and issuing quotations
  • Customer resource management
  • Monitoring and dealing swiftly and professionally with incoming sales enquiries
  • Generating marketing content and dissemination through electronic and other means
  • Identification and development of new marketing channels to support lead generation and sales
  • Essential skills:
  • You must enjoy customer interaction and be able to build strong relationships
  • Project management.

  • Experience of pricing and quotation generation
  • Scientific Background is essential
  • IT proficient Microsoft
  • Good organisation skills and time management
  • Technical sales experience essential.
  • Marketing, especially through digital channels
  • Due to the nature of our business, the role will be primarily office based

Desirable skills:

  • Scientific systems, especially PVD, CVD and etch tools
  • Technical writing
  • Experience of high-value equipment sales
  • Experience of sales to public institutions, including through tender procedures
  • CRM software or experience using a customer database

Candidates should have qualifications and/or experience relevant to the work detailed above, should be excellent communicators and thrive working as part of a strong team. Creativity and initiative for problem-solving are essential, as is a desire to complete tasks to deadlines together with the ambition and capability to progress quickly within an SME with a unique product range.
